Stjepan Đurinski from Kupljenovo near Zaprešić dedicated his Cuvée Leona 2016 Ice Wine, a blend of Graševina and Traminac, to his granddaughter. With a score of 89.75 points, it earned a gold medal out of 263 wines submitted from ten Central European countries. Eight wines from Croatia were entered for judging. Two from the Korta Katarina winery on the Pelješac Peninsula, Rosé 2025 made from Plavac Mali and Pošip Barrique 2025, won bronze medals.
The best wine of this year's judging was Tokajská výberová esencia 2009 from the Slovak winery Tokaj & Co, which won 95 points out of 100. The famous Tokaj wines generally took home by far the most major gold medals, which required at least 93 points. The Tokaj region is mostly in Hungary, but part of it crosses the Slovak border.
