Had Zlatko Bošnjak and Marijo Faletar not encountered payment issues with the grapes they sold twenty years ago, they likely would never have started producing wine. Fortunately, those problems did arise, for by 2008 they were already producing an outstanding Cabernet Franc, a very good Cabernet Sauvignon, an excellent Graševina from a selected harvest, a fine—almost viscous—Rhine Riesling, and Traminers rivaling the very best from Ilok. They started in a garage, continued in a metal hangar, and have just moved into a beautifully renovated cellar dating back to 1886, topped by a tasting room and a four-star boutique hotel. Zlatko and Marijo prefer conversing with their wine over talking to a journalist, no matter how long we have known each other. That is why the photographs will tell this story in three acts, which we might call Today, Yesterday, and Once Upon a Time
