Komarna is Croatia’s youngest wine-growing region. The story began in 2008 with the planting of vines on previously untouched, wild terrain. Five years later, this slice of paradise had become Croatia’s smallest wine-growing region, though perhaps also its most beautiful. The Štimac family deserves much of the credit for this. Their Rizman winery offers tastings of exquisite wines on a terrace boasting a unique view of the vineyards, the magnificent Pelješac Bridge, the Pelješac Peninsula, and even a stretch of the coastline. Anyone looking at photos from the end of the summer of 2025 will instantly feel a sense of warmth. At least in their heart...
